Region 3-A held its Cross Country Meet at Black Creek Reservation in Screven County Monday, October 25th. The teams participating were Bryan County, McIntosh Academy, Metter, Jenkins County, Savannah Early Classical College, Screven County, and Claxton. The top 2 teams from each of the Boys and Girls would go on to compete at the State Meet on November 6th in Carrollton, Ga. The girls won the region title by finishing 1st, while Screven County was the region runner up. The top 7 runners were Janet Baltazar, Gabriel Gomez, Star Mendoza, Trinity Lavant, Olivia Yanzetich, Melaney Smith, and Marissa Ramirez. Janet won the Silver medal finishing 2nd overall for the girls. All Seven girls will compete at the State meet. The Boys brought home some hardware too. They beat Metter for the Region Championship easily. The top 7 runners were Urises Danu, Jamie Delgado, Bryan Atjun, Kyo Mothe, Jose Guitierrez, Eric Christman, James Hernandez. Urises won Gold finishing 1st, Jamie won Silver finishing 2nd, and Bryan won the Bronze medal finishing 3rd overall for the boys. “I love this group of runners we have, they are always competing against each other as well as cheering on each other”, said Head Coach Andy Yanzetich. “You can’t ask for a better dynamic in high school student/athletes  .”
